The right way to Criticize Government
The pathway of the development and prosperity of a country depends on the support of the country’s policies and decisions while tracing the activities executed by the government and especially showing and highlighting the mistakes and loopholes of the policies and decisions.
When we look at society it consists of people who are with different ideals. Today we can see some people either criticize each and every policy made by the government or support all of them without criticizing. This kind of attitude will not help to improve the quality of governance. Consequently, the country will not be able to have a better society too. People who are not included in the above two categories are the ones who truly love their country and society. They will value and respect good things and show the pitfalls to improve the quality of society ultimately.
Today Sri Lanka lack such kind of people and this can be true for most other countries as well. But how people can be such a critic? That is where Constructive Criticism shine.

- Be Straightforward.
- Be Specific.
- Don’t Make It Personal.
- Don’t Forget the Positive.
- Don’t Tell Someone They’re Wrong(Instead of saying or declaring wrong suggest or have a healthy debate).
- Provide Ideas for Improvement.
- Make It a Conversation.
If we can follow those tips we will be able to make a better society for our next generations.
